Mass Academy Celebrates 25 Years
On May 18, 2017, students, alumni, parents, and friends of Mass Academy gathered to celebrate 25 years of innovative education. The evening featured demos of student apps, guest speakers, and a panel of alumni who reflected on the impact Mass Academy had on them after graduation.

Mass Academy Alumna Visited White House in 2016
Aarushi Pendharkar ‘17, a former Mass Academy student who is now a WPI student at only 15 years old, was invited to attend the White House Frontiers Conference in Pittsburgh to discuss her research and meet President Obama on October 13, 2016.

23 students from Mass Academy were recognized as “National Merit Commended Students” in the 2017 National Merit Scholarship Program. A letter of commendation from the Academy and the National Merit Scholarship Corporation, which conducts the program, will be presented to each senior.

Five Seniors Named National Merit Semifinalists
Seniors Lillian Cain, Jerry Fu, Emily Lane, Patrick Lei, and Heather Wing were named National Merit Semifinalists in the 2017 scholarship program, before moving on to become finalists.

Mass Academy Alumnus Earned First Place Medal of Distinction in Washington, D.C.
Mass Academy alumnus Amol Punjabi ’17 won the First Place Medal of Distinction for Basic Research for his software that could help develop new therapies for cancer and heart disease. The award also included $150,000, and was given at the Intel Science Talent Search in Washington, D.C.
