Maureen Chase joined the Mass Academy in 2022 after teaching math and physics for over 20 years at Quabbin Regional High School. She finds physics to be the perfect discipline to allow students to strengthen their problem-solving skills while working collaboratively. Her class focuses on design and analysis of experiments, and on using mathematics as a tool to uncover relationships between physical quantities.
Prior to starting her teaching career, Mrs. Chase worked for seven years at GE Aerospace designing flight control algorithms, and for seven years at GE Medical Systems designing software for X-ray systems that are used in cardiovascular and gastro-intestinal procedures.
Mrs. Chase has B.S. and M.S. degrees in Electrical and Systems Engineering with a concentration on control systems design. In addition to teaching, Mrs. Chase enjoys solving and constructing crossword puzzles, baking, and knitting.
