Students celebrate Valentine’s Day with a movie night
To celebrate Valentine’s Day the Mass Academy senior student council organized a fun event for students. In place of a traditional Valentine’s Day dance, they opted for a movie night, much to the delight of students.
Before the movie began, the Brickyard furniture was rearranged and decorations were hung up. Students piled together on top of the mountain of couches, bean bag chairs, and blankets, ready for the movie, Crazy Rich Asians.
“I really liked the setup of everything and it was really comfy and cozy,” said junior Shreya Venkayala.
Some students were watching the movie for the first time, whereas others had watched it countless times. Nevertheless, everyone enjoyed it.
“It was a really great, really well-planned experience. It was great getting to hear everyone’s reactions,” said junior Donovan Sappet.
Throughout the movie, students snacked on the wide array of treats provided by the student council, from cupcakes to M&M’s.
Festive balloons floated around the Brickyard as well, adding to the Valentine-themed atmosphere.
In addition to the movie, the senior student council also provided valentines for students, with wonderfully nerdy messages like “There’s no DNA-ing my love for you.”
All in all, this celebration was also a great opportunity for both juniors and seniors to celebrate together.
